About

Welcome to Building Muslim Leaders, being the foremost in this world to be the foremost in Paradise.

History

Founded in 2005, by the Muslim Students Association executive board at The Ohio State University. The first program conducted was a weekend long seminar, with workshops, focused on characteristics of a leader. The initial goal was to increase the involvement of Muslim students across campus. As the popularity of the seminar grew, even before the seminar had taken place, Muslims from around Columbus, from high school students to professionals, registered for and attended the seminar. At the succeeding seminar, the following year, the number of attendees nearly doubled.

Building Muslim Leaders is continuing to develop its programs to better serve the purpose of building the foremost in this world, to be the the foremost in Paradise.

Vision and Goal

“All of you are guardians and are responsible for your dependents and the things under your care .” (Bukhari)

This was what Muhammed, the final messenger and prophet of Allah, may peace and blessings be upon him, had said. From the early days of Islam, until even more recent history, numerous leaders have rose and led the Muslim nation to the peaks of all societies existent in the world. It was during the golden ages of Islam that the entire human race bathed in the heights of knowledge, ethics, and morality. Although many great men have came and gone, no society has been able to produce such numerous and diverse leaders as Islam has.

Abu Bakr As-Siddique, Al-Farooq Umar ibn Al-Khattab, Dhun-Nurayn Uthman ibn Affan, Ali ibn Abi Talib, Saifullah Khalid ibn Waleed, Asadullah Sa’ad ibn Abi Waqqas are only a few from among the companions of the Prophet. Imam Abu Hanifa, Imam Malik, Imam Ash-Shafi’i, Imam Ahmed ibn Hanbal, Imam Bukhari, Imam Muslim, Imam An-Nasa’i, Imam Ibn Hajr Al-Asqalani are only a few from among the thousands and thousands of scholars. Salah-uddin Ayyubi, Haroon Ar-Rashid, Uthman dan Fodio are only a few from among the many social, political, and military reformers.

Today, more than ever before, there has risen a dire need to once again nourish the hearts of Muslims and let loose the greatest men and women any mother has bore.

Building Muslim Leaders is focused on helping Muslims, regardless of what stage they are in life right now, to achieve their dreams and make a difference in the lives of others in a positive way, today and in generations to come.
