It is the statement which Umar ibn Al-Khattab began one of his khutbahs with. It is the statement which both Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim began their collections of saheeh hadeeth with. It is that same statement which almost all the scholars, both past and present, begin writing their books with.

Peak Performance (2 of 12): High Self-Confidence

One of the most crucial characteristics to have, to be amongst the peak performers, is a high level of self-confidence.

In hadith Jibreel, Jibreel (AS) requests from the Prophet (SAW), “Tell me about ihsan.” He (SAW) replied, “It is that you worship Allah as if you see Him. And even though you do not see Him, you have full consciousness that He sees you.” (more…)

Peak Performance (part 1 of 12): Doing everything with ihsan

We are often reminded by khateebs and imams to do things to the best of our ability. And, we often respond by nodding our heads and thinking, “when is he going to stop talking?”

But, the real issue at hand is not whether we know doing our best is important, but rather “how do we know we are doing, or did, our best?”
